Using NovoNote on Safari: Microphone Stops Working

When using NovoNote on Safari, the microphone may stop working if another safari tab or browser window also requires microphone access. This is due to Safari’s strict security settings which do not allow the microphone to used across multiple browsers.



When using NovoNote on Safari, ensure you only have one browser session open with NovoNote.



Examples of Conflicts:

  • Running Zoom Browser while using NovoNote
    If you are in a zoom session using Safari, this may revoke microphone access from NovoNote.

  • Google Meet in another tab
    If you are in a Google Meet call while recording in NovoNote, the microphone will likely stop working in NovoNote.



How to Prevent This Issue (when using NovoNote on Safari):

  • Ensure that NovoNote is only website open in Safari using the microhpone.

  • Close other browser tabs that require microphone access before starting a recording on NovoNote.

  • Always ensure that microphone permissions are enabled correctly.




Telehealth and NovoNote Safari

  • Its advised to use the Desktop Software for your Telehealth Session (eg Zoom Desktop)

  • Alternatively, use another browser (eg Google Chrome) to complete your Telehealth session.
