Copying and Pasting Notes into other Platforms
NovoNote generates documentation in both Rich Text and Plain Text formats to accommodate different clinical record-keeping needs.
When transferring notes into most word processing platforms (e.g., Google Docs, Microsoft Word), Rich Text format preserves formatting such as bold, italics, and bullet points. However, some electronic medical record (EMR) systems and secure client management platforms may not fully support Rich Text, potentially leading to formatting inconsistencies.
If you experience issues with formatting, copying and pasting in Plain Text format can be a practical alternative. This removes all formatting elements, ensuring compatibility across all platforms. While this may require reformatting, it ensures that your notes remain accessible and correctly displayed within your chosen system.
1. Copying Notes in Rich Text:
- Select the session containing the notes you wish to copy.
- Click on "Copy Note" ("Note copied as rich text")
- Paste the content onto your selected destination platform.
Copying and pasting content in rich text format retains elements such as bold, italics, bullet points and numbered lists when pasted into compatible platforms.
2. Copying Notes in Plain Text:
- Select the session containing the notes you wish to copy.
- Click on "Copy as Plain Text"
- Paste the content onto your selected destination platform.
Copying and pasting content in plain text format removes all formatting (bold, italics, bullet points and numbered lists). This is useful for platforms that do not support Rich Text formatting.
If Formatting Is Lost in Another Platform
- Some platforms may not support Rich Text formatting when pasting.
- To check compatibility:
- Copy your NovoNote text.
- Paste it into this Rich Text Editor.
- If formatting appears correctly here but not in your desired platform, it means that platform does not support Rich Text, and it is not an issue with NovoNote.
