Credit Notes, Refunds

Credit Notes:

A Credit Note (CN) is typically issued to adjust a previously generated invoice.

Credit Notes may be issued for several reasons, such as:

  • Subscription plan changes (e.g., subscription tier downgrades)
  • Billing adjustments due to incorrect charges

  • Write-offs for small balances or goodwill adjustments

Example Scenarios:

Subscription Changes:
If you switch from a higher-tier plan to a lower-tier plan mid-cycle, a credit note may be issued for the difference.

Billing Errors:
If an incorrect amount was charged, and direct refunds are not available.

Write-offs:
If an invoice was issued but will not be paid (e.g., a trial period adjustment).

Types of Credit Notes

  • Adjustment: Credits issued to adjust an invoice that did not require a payment (e.g., correcting an invoice before it was processed).

  • Refund: Credits issued to your account resulting from an invoice that has already been paid.

    • Note: While the type says "Refund," this typically means the credit has been added to your NovoNote account balance to be applied toward future invoices.

You will see two primary statuses:

  • Adjusted: This indicates that a credit has been applied to a specific invoice to modify the balance due.

  • Refunded: This indicates that the credit has been issued/returned to your NovoPsych account (which can be applied toward future invoices).

Important Note: Subscription Cancellations & Refunds

We strive to provide a seamless experience, but we understand that billing questions arise.

  • Policy on Cancellations: Kindly note that if a subscription is cancelled, there is no applicable refund for the remaining period of your current billing cycle.

Cancellation stops future billing while your access to the subscription and service remains active until the end of the paid period/billing cycle. This ensures you get the full value of the time you have already purchased.
